Christian Bible Devotions for Women

This blog comes from the desire to grow with other Christian women in knowing what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. These devotions will be like a small piece of rich dark chocolate. A little piece goes a long way. They will be short so that it won't take a long time to read but they are meant to give you something rich to think about throughout your day.

I will write these devotions as I am writing a quick note to a sister in Christ and will address them to you as "Dear Sister." As with a sister in Christ, I will want to share the truth of God's word humbly, because I will need to hear what I am writing too! Please know that my tone is with love and caring, as to speak the truth in love.

"Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ." Ephesians 4:15

Please join me here as we dive into what it means to be a Christian woman in this world. I encourage you to think of ways to live out your faith in Jesus Christ in grace, gentleness, and love for others. This world needs strong Christian women. Let us be strong and brave as we show the love of Christ in actions and words. Dear friend, I urge you to live righteously before God and humanity as what you do will affect those around you whether you know it or not.

"Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. "

My name is Deanne Postma. This blog isn't about me, but let me tell you what I believe.
I believe the God of the bible created the universe and he is over us all. Mankind failed to obey him in the first sin of Adam and Eve. And because of their disobedience/sin in has infected all mankind born after them. Sin is disobediance to God's law in the Ten Commandments. This made a seperation between God and man. God is three in one, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God seeks to get people back to him by forgiving sin. Jesus is the Son of God, he was born of the virgin Mary, fully God and man. He lived, died on the cross, shed his blood as a payment for sin. Sin brings death and without the payment of death (shed blood) there is not forgiveness of sin. Jesus came to pay that penalty for all people. He died and rose back to life, was seen here on earth and assended to heaven. He is the way(to God), the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through him. When we believe in our hearts that he has done the work of paying for our sin and confess with our mouth that he is Lord we are saved from the wrath of God toward the sins of man. We are then made alive in Christ, we have crossed over from death to life and will live eternally with Him. A Christian is a person who believes that Jesus paid for their sin debit and then repents of their sin and follows Jesus. It's pretty simple!

I love my husband and three grown-up boys. I like creative things like making quilts, trying to be an artist, photographs, and cooking and baking new things.
My heart is to grow with you in devotion to Jesus.
My mouth wants a piece of chocolate!
